4th Annual 30 in 30...Day 19 - FURY (2014)

"Ideals are peaceful, history is violent."

This doesn't necessarily count as a "horror" film, unless you count the horror of war that is being portrayed. And that's exactly what it does...

'Fury' follows a tank crew in late April 1945 as they close in on the heart of Nazi Germany. The tank crew of Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña and Jon Bernthal is near perfect. They play off of each other well and are a brotherhood inside of their steel encased war machine. This film approaches the material from the vantage point of being in the tank on the frontlines. It's successful in portraying the highly chaotic element of war on the ground with all of its imminent dangers and ever-changing circumstances.

I pretty much loved this. It's no 'Saving Private Ryan' - but I don't think it was trying to be. It's a brutal and honest war movie that reminds us of the ultimate horrors of war. And even if you try to do the right thing, it may not be the "best" thing when your enemy is trying to kill you.

Outstanding battle scenes, great acting and authentic tanks, period uniforms. 4 out of 5 Khans.

If you had given this one anything less than 4 Khans, I would have been really disappointed. Glad you enjoyed it, can't wait to see it myself!
