Into Darkness has a lot of character...

The final roundup of character posters for Into Darkness. Oh my.

1/72 Ki67...The White Stripes...

Getting close now - complete artistic license here as there aren't many photos of WW2 Peggys with white wing stripes. I like the way this looks and gives an extra bit of detail. Got some overspray in a few spots near the white stripe edge but I am pretty confident I can "cheat" those into looking like weathering later on. I'm not worried about it.

These are the voyages of the USS KreoPrise...

Picked up the new Star Trek game for xbox last night...Cool cover!

The best part though was the early preorder incentive prize that came with it! A Kre-o (Lego?) Enterprise kit. The bag...

The finished masterpiece! Fire all phasers! Pew pew!

1/72 Ki67...Shady lines...

Top coat of brown/green on the Peggy. Mixture went on very clean...

Removed the tape and examined the lines on the belly. Nice.

Some prelim panel shading with tape assistance. Will finish these up tonight and then work on the top next.

The Minimalist Approach...The Bomber Boys

This isn't a reality yet, but the rumor is that Spielberg and Hanks are aiming to make their next HBO WW2 miniseries about Donald Miller's book "Masters of the Air." I am currently reading this and it is every bit as good as you could hope for. Needless to say, I am excited at the prospect of another great miniseries based on this work. So, of course, I made a poster.

1/72 Ki67...Sponges and Tape...

Finally got back to work on the Peggy this weekend. Lots of paint prep and sponge cutting in order to cover up the insides, etc. Then there was all that canopy masking I had to do...sheesh...bombers are cruel in that way...

This is most likely not "historically accurate" but I wanted to embellish the insides a little more. Note the little white "charts" with some tiny japanese writing on them. I thought maybe these could be ID charts for the bombarbier or tail gunners. Anyway some minor scratch detail to give the insides a bit of "extra"...

And finally the initial base coat - 10 parts Khaki with 4-5 parts White and a drop of Yellow. A nice dirty color.

You can also see the taping I've started in prep for the darker top brown or green main color...

And finally the workbench...

I believe in you, Jim...

The hype machine is in full overload now for INTO DARKNESS. I couldn't be happier...

The new official magazine...bought.

New Revell Enterprise model kit. I had sworn off Revell kits a few weeks back, this one might just bring me back in. That's a big sucka. Might have to battle damage it up a bit...

The english version of the Pine Kirk poster and a UK Cumberbatch Harrison poster...

Statue of the new Gorn from the new Star Trek game that is out next week.....yeah that's bought too!

Fan art for the first movie...I love the Enterprise firing all phasers!

New classic Enterprise poster. Awesome.

And last but not least, a little character quote picture...awesome awesome awesome...

The Minimalist Approach...They will join you in the Sun...

MAN OF STEEL

This is by no means my best work, but I love the quote by Jor-El and there are some striking images from the latest trailer to be had. I can't wait for this. Enjoy.
