Markers are Fun!

So I got a set of these this past weekend...

There are a TON of grays - all different shades and I think the purpose is to use them mainly to augment/darken/shade the regular main colors. It'll take some time to get that right and I prob need more skin tones and lighter main colors. But for now...

A cat.

Some random robot - heh...

And sometimes, less is more. Why So Serious?

Megatron's Apocalypse

Still playin' around with Sharpies and Shadows...

First off, a quick Apocalypse...

And what turned out to be my favorite of the night, Battle-Damaged Megatron from the new Transformers movies...

"It's using da trees."

Attempted another "life drawing" last night - Arnold Schwarzenegger falling down a muddy hill from Predator...

"Oh SHIT!"

I really like the WIPs on this one...each one stands on its own in a way...

Even though he is slightly deformed, zombie-like and has a fat lip, overall I'm pleased. More work to be done!

Then I drew Bane in sharpie and ink...I am the league of shadows...

Daimajin

Subpar output last night. Just wasn't feeling it. Honestly my WIP photos were more interesting than the final piece. I like the greens and shadows in the face but I lost sight of anything else around the noggin. Oh well...a fun exercise overall and it gave me some things to look into on my next one.

Small 8 x 5 study of a scene in my head of a man walking in a field. It was inspired by a song that I heard.

Skulls, Frogs, Fishes, and Pins...

Big Dump this weekend!

First off the table was this Skeletor portrait. Well, it started off as Skeletor but ended up more like a generic Ghoul type thing. Either way - pretty pleased overall and it was one of the most involved step by step pieces I've done...I kept going back into it and getting some nice mixtures of wet paint and new paint colors. I honestly don't know how I got to where I ended up in some respects, which was neat too.

The workbench...

Some quick studies post Skeletor of a Palmetto and Crescent moon and a Salmon...

This is from reference and I liked its loose quality...

A side project on 8 x 5 - I Could see this turn into a large Canvas one day. Basically as I worked on the main projects I would paint a square of whatever color I had going at the time until I had a nice layer of multi-colored squares.

Fire Bellied Toad Study from reference....this looks better in pics than it does in person honestly...

Sharkie!

And the last of the bunch was this quick Pinhead study in leftover reds, whites, and blues....
