Fifth Annual 31 in 31...Day 20 ... "Have no fear, little one... I am here to protect thee."

The Omen / 1976

Part of the mighty 1970s output of American horror. Came after Texas Chain Saw, Jaws and The Exorcist -- but before Halloween and Alien -- this might just be the scariest "satanic kid" film ever made. Outstanding cast featuring Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, and David Warner. Creepy and haunting Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack. Great filming locations in and around London with its many older, gothic features. So many great scenes..."It's all for you, Damien" / that damn Mrs. Baylock / the graveyard with the dogs / The priest on the lawn / just too many to name, and that final shot as Damien turns around to face the camera...

Such a happy family.

A recent soundtrack re-release...I love this cover, fans of the movie will understand its meaning. Creepy!

I may work up some posters for this one later...but for now...
