4th Annual 30 in 30...Day 27 - OUT OF BOUNDS (1986)...

Now we move into 'pleasant surprise' territory. A mostly forgotten 80s action thriller starring Anthony Michael Hall. This must have been his attempt at getting away from the "Brat Pack" recognition and trying his hand at more serious roles. This wasn't received well from what I remember, but after watching it, there is a ton to love here...especially from a nostalgic 80s point of view. Several recognizable faces including Jenny Wright (Near Dark) as Dizz and Jeff Kober who has been in everything from The Walking Dead, Star Trek Voyager, to 24 and older flicks like The First Power. Just a creepy dude.

Hall plays a naive Iowa farmboy who moves to L.A. to live with his brother - at the airport he literally picks up the wrong bag at baggage claim and it ends up having a drug dealer's heroin in it. A chase ensues, death happens, and Hall tries to hide out in L.A. with his new friend Dizz (and her wonderful hair!) until he can figure out how to save himself.

There are tons of shots of mid 80s Hollywood and Los Angeles and some great tunes on the soundtrack. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.
