This past weekend I went to my first Horror Convention in Charlotte, NC - The Mad Monster Party! It was an absolute BLAST. SO many cool people, sights, and things to see! I will document with some pics below..Here it comes...
This was taken about 830 Saturday morning as we headed out...Excited! When we arrived there was a decent line but we got in quick and were waiting before the show opened. Saw a few cool things too at some booths on the way in!
A "live action" Operation game on the way in...HAHA!
A cool Creepshow shirt, Some random horror artwork posters and a Gene Roddenberry framed autograph on display...
Walking in, we saw Henry Winkler aka The Fonz from Happy Days so I snapped a quick pic, although it came out kind of sucky...
The first guest we met was A Nightmare on Elm Street's Heather Langenkamp - who plays "Nancy" - she was awesome. Here I am meeting her. I had to ask her about being in the last Star Trek movie - Into Darkness - she got so excited telling me about being on set with the actors - Simon Pegg was a big fan. I brought some of my own artwork, which she graciously signed and took a picture with me. She was so nice and a very gracious lady! I'm a fan for life!
I think she was literally saying "OMFG" at this moment talking about her role in Star Trek!!!
Here she is signing my poster.
One of my favorite pictures of the entire day - "I'm your boyfriend now, Nancy!" Such a nice lady!
Next up was Corey Feldman! I couldn't afford an autograph but I did get a picture and talked to him for a bit - Cool dude. Again my pic sucks.
While taking a break, I noticed that NO ONE was at Jane Badler's table - She played Queen Diana on the 80s series V and its new version that was on just a few years ago. I walked over and had a very nice conversation with her for almost 10 minutes uninterrupted - we talked about V old and new - she was very cool and had many nice things to say. I got her to sign an old Starlog that I had and she also took a picture with me!
Awesome! Never thought I'd have the chance to meet her one day.
As my funds dwindled down I had to get one more autograph and it turned out to be Tom Atkins! He was an awesome guest to talk to - he's been in classics like The Fog, Creepshow, Halloween III, and Night of the Creeps. You can tell he really enjoys meeting the fans and talking to everyone. Really cool experience. I had sign a photo from him in his iconic final scene from Halloween III. Turn it off!!!!!
Me speaking with Tom Atkins, in the background in the white coat is Ted White aka Jason Voorhees from F13: The Final Chapter (which also starred Corey Feldman.)
Love the two fingers...haha!
Another quickie of Ted White from afar...
That's about all the autographs I had time and money for - I wanted to get more but I stopped there (my wallet thanked me). I did however, snag one little piece of merchandise for myself. I had to get one when I saw it sitting there...
Apparently the head glows once its in sunlight and the alien tongue can go in out of the mouth! ARRGGHH!!!!
All in all it was a great time, I wish I could have been there all three days and had endless money but alas. I would definitely go again and can't wait for the next one! A few more random shots of cool things I saw there...
Me poking the big MMP head out front...
Now one last weird thing...I happened upon one of my pieces of blog art, printed out and displayed at a random booth! WTF? I did not see a price or anyone to talk to or I would have asked about it, but I snapped a shot of it anyway...they better have a good explanation if I ever find out who it is.
Other than that, I had an awesome time. When I go again, I'm gonna make sure I save a little extra and take better pictures!!!!

That looked like a blast. That is really cool all of the people you got to meet. Did you ever figure out what was going on with your work being at the show? And I gotta say Diana (V) has aged very well. I really hate they cancelled that show. Especially at the end when they brought back some original cast members.. Thanks for sharing, and you I may have to check that out next year.
