The Man of your Dreams...

...is staring at you through a rectangle. I wanted to concentrate on some eye detail...so what better way to work on that than to try ol' Pizza face himself!

Weekend for the Ages...7.8.16 ~ 7.10.16

Two big projects in progress this weekend...first off, the samurai piece...the spearman...

First figure done...

For the first time in a LONG time, I sat with another artist and learned some new techniques....specifically, charcoal pencil. This was my first attempt...

In progress shots...

The finished piece on 9 x 12 in Charcoal...Leonard.

And the photo I used for reference...

I'm pretty excited about how this turned out, all in all...I see a lot of room for improvement...but I'm encouraged. I need the right paper and some newer charcoal pencils, sticks...but I'll get there...

Weekend Output

I spent ALL DAY Saturday drawing. Maybe not my best output ever, but def some of the most varied and complete I've done in a while in one sitting. Need more days like this.

First off, the workbench...

Using Steve Bissette's artwork from Alan Moore's Swamp Thing Annual #2 (1985) I wanted to draw my version of one of his panels...Below is the in progress shot by shot...

This place..it is HELL?

A quickie Pred in marker and color pencil

And finally, some turtles...the first one is a redraw of something I did about 20-25 years ago. I updated it and colored it in.

Another study, this time of am old TMNT panel, if memory serves...

Onward! More to come!
