The Oiwa Ghost Demon from Japanese folklore. Disfigured by her husband's lover, a woman impales herself on his sword, then returns in spirit form to haunt him, sometimes inside of a lantern, in a tale of revenge and bloodshed. Japan is awesome.

Second is a quickie sketch in pentel brush pen from Demons (1985) - "They will make the cemeteries their cathedrals and the cities will be your tombs!"
