Christine / 1983
Oh, those early '80s movies based on Stephen King novels. I have not seen this one since the '80s and forgot that John Carpenter actually directed it! It's a dated film for sure, but Carpenter does infuse a good bit of his influence with certain camera shots and musical enhancement. There are some genuinely creepy scenes throughout - the first time Christine "shows herself" and fixes her damaged frame in front of Arnie, after a bully Christine chases runs into a thin alley - she essentially forces herself, ripping up her sides to crush the poor guy, and while fully engulfed in flames Christine chases down and runs over the head gang leader on a dark road and leaves him burning.
"OK...Show me."

Some recognizable faces are in this - Harry Dean Stanton, Kelly Preston, 'Cougar' from Top Gun...lots of surprises...
This movie isn't as scary as it used to be, but it's a good Halloween movie nonetheless. There's also a good bit of humor as Christine plays certain songs in reaction to what's happening around her...good stuff.
