1/48 Slovak Mig 29...weathering the panel lines...

Nearing the end of this long build. Missiles and struts attached. Mixture of Oil based Burnt Umber and Turpenoid used to paint along panel lines. This is my first real attempt at weathering panel lines on a finished build. I let the oil mix dry for about 45 min to one hour...

After drying, used damp Qtips and folded napkins to wipe off the excess. The flash photo shows a bit more detail so I included it below. I will prob give it a final once over before the dull coat, but the overall results are satisfactory I think.

Here you can see a close-up of the underside wing panel lines.

Got the first coat of red on the boarding ladder. It prob needs at least one more.
