1/48 Slovak Mig-29...Some more...
A couple more random shots from different angles.
One of my favorite shots so far...notice the back end is causing the nose to drift up. Wish I had weighted the nose.
I call this one "The Business"...
More under and the engine and drop tank weathering...
Landing light on the wheel panel...
Missile detail on both sides...
Good photo of some vent detail...
Some scratchbuilt tire blocks. Used wire and unused sprue pieces. I think they turned out ok but I'd like to perfect them on the next model.

FINISHED! Academy 1/48 Scale Slovak Mig-29...
Finally we come to it...the end. It has been haul for sure, and even though there are thing I COULD have done better, overall I am pleased with the final model. Better shots will follow in the coming days when I get better lighting and more time. For now, enjoy.

1/48 Slovak Mig 29...weathering the panel lines...
Nearing the end of this long build. Missiles and struts attached. Mixture of Oil based Burnt Umber and Turpenoid used to paint along panel lines. This is my first real attempt at weathering panel lines on a finished build. I let the oil mix dry for about 45 min to one hour...
After drying, used damp Qtips and folded napkins to wipe off the excess. The flash photo shows a bit more detail so I included it below. I will prob give it a final once over before the dull coat, but the overall results are satisfactory I think.
Here you can see a close-up of the underside wing panel lines.
Got the first coat of red on the boarding ladder. It prob needs at least one more.

Nice batch plus a new surprise...
COTW - Manhattan Projects #2...Simple and effective, esp when considering issue 1 below. World War II. The Atomic Bomb. Japanese robotic ninjas coming through time portals. Dr. Oppenheimer manning a .50 caliber machine gun. Awesome.
Batman 8...The owls attack!
Justice League 8...
Hell Masterpieces 12...

70 years ago today...
April 18, 1942...Doolittle's Raiders reminded Japan that the United States was still in the war.
This year marks the 70th Reunion of the remaining Raiders in Dayton, Ohio. I was lucky enough to meet three of them 3 years ago, here in Columbia, referenced in this post on my blog:
Doolittle Raiders
God Bless you guys.

1/48 Slovak Mig 29...prepping for final run...
All decals are applied, painting touch-ups finished, and missiles and weapon struts are ready to go on. Final coat of future applied to seal the decals and weathering will be the last thing to come. While waiting on this last future app to dry, I started constructing some diorama ladders. All below...
