No Tears Please...it is a waste of good sketching...

A productive weekend, and I wanted to do more! Still, I enjoyed the time and the output...

The workbench...

Next a quickie commission for a friend of a friend....RATT N ROLL!!! WAY COOL JR.!!!

Then I continued my "eyes of horror" charcoal tests...this time...a Cenobite...might be my best minimal output yet.

A little contrast shot at the end.

And finally a Godzilla head. I'm not entirely pleased with this one. I don't look at it as finished yet, ended up being a test bed for several different 'looks' - and the eyes are wonky. Sigh. Oh well, we learn by doing...onward.

SKRREONK!

"You broke your little ships..."

...well, not yet anyway. HAH!

New ships from Eaglemoss - I've held off on these until now. Uh oh. The fever is hitting me...

The Romulan Drone and early Klingon Bird of Prey from Enterprise...whoa the detail on these things. Holy crap.

FIRE EVERYTHING!!!

And a little front porch sketchin....band logos like it's 1980-something. YOUTH GONE WILD!!!

The Man of your Dreams...

...is staring at you through a rectangle. I wanted to concentrate on some eye detail...so what better way to work on that than to try ol' Pizza face himself!

Fred Krueger in charcoal on 8 x 10.

A contrast shot for S n G.

Weekend for the Ages...7.8.16 ~ 7.10.16

Two big projects in progress this weekend...first off, the samurai piece...the spearman...

First figure done...

For the first time in a LONG time, I sat with another artist and learned some new techniques....specifically, charcoal pencil. This was my first attempt...

In progress shots...

The finished piece on 9 x 12 in Charcoal...Leonard.

And the photo I used for reference...

I'm pretty excited about how this turned out, all in all...I see a lot of room for improvement...but I'm encouraged. I need the right paper and some newer charcoal pencils, sticks...but I'll get there...
