1/48 Zeke...spaghetti and MEATBALLS...
Spent over an HOUR (!!!) getting the decals on the Zero last night. I let them dry overnight with a good bit of MicroSol brushed on them. Will prob get a second coat of that on to help them adhere to the surfaces so I can future it up again and get ready for panel line weathering. Had some decal tearing to deal with, esp on the yellow front wing tips. Yikes. I can most likely incorporate that into the weathering but it was a hassle to get through. Still, I'm pleased with the overall work so far...some pics...
A favorite detail of mine...number 5 at the base of the cowling. Cool little detail...

"I am better...at everything..."
So the Super Bowl was last night...and the new Star Trek Into Darkness trailer debuted.
So now, this is happening...
So now, this is happening...
1/48 Zeke...all dressed up and no where to go!
Got the future on yesterday...now the waiting begins...
While I wait on the future to dry, constructed the pilot figures...not bad for a 1/48 scale kit! Lots of detail here! Also very scary!
Detail on the back of one figure...parachute...
The workbench...

1/48 Zeke...taping off panels...
Finishing up some detail before I future the Zero. Often in the harsh Pacific weather, certain panels would need to be replaced or weather differently from the rest of the plane during maintenance, etc. I like how this looks on other models - helps give the overall paint job some depth. Some shots of a few topside panels taped up to get the lines right.
Quick shot of the underside..wheels attached...
Fold up wing tips with photo etched ends inserted...very tiny, very hard to get just right...
Close-ups of the painted panels after tape removed. Not bad! A little bleed on the left wing, but with decals and weathering, I'm confident I can cover that up. Enjoy!

Geronimo. For God and Country.
Finally got to see this last night. Excellent film and very detailed. More than once though, I kept thinking how the actress that played 'Maya' looked like Katee "Starbuck" Sackoff! Ha!
Now I want a Stealth Blackhawk scale model!
