Another ink quickie...this might be one of the best Freddy portraits I've ever done. I'm really pleased with it..drawn from reference of course. Need to do more!

S.H. Monsterarts SPACE GODZILLA!!!!!!
I did another bad thing...
I've had my eye on these figures for a while now. In the 80s and 90s Bandai produced the static vinyl figures with each new movie. Now a new company (or a branch of Bandai I'm not sure which) is making new and improved versions of the monsters we all love. They are highly detailed, articulated, and come with a crapload of accessories depending on which version or figure you come across. I took the plunge and got Space Godzilla...one of the most unique and truly ridiculous enemy monsters of any Godzilla movie.
First off, a few package pics...the design and function are outstanding. Not only are these packed with photos and graphics but the box emulates the figure within with crystal shaped cardboard edges in some places and bright colors/text. The box is a work of art in itself.
Nice little touch here - where SG's face is printed on the front is a spot varnish. Awesome detail!
About to open it up!
One of the things that becomes apparent is the amount of detail and thought put into this figure. The level of minute detail is astounding. Colors are perfect and applied in a natural pattern. I would imagine this would be the closest thing to getting one of the actual suits reduced in size and delivered to you in a pretty box. This is probably one of their main goals with this line, and I can say that this is a complete success.
Amazing Facial detail shot...one of my favorites.
Back Spikes look just like crystals ... and they are sharp little suckers!
Did I mention this also comes with a space crystals base and detachable fire breath accessory?
Uh oh....
And a few more randoms...
Again, I can't say enough about the level of detail included in this figure. This is my first Monsterarts piece and while they are way more pricey than regular toys ($70 for SG!!!) - they are incredible investments, esp for the serious Godzilla collector. I can't recommend it highly enough. I can see countless battles to come!
5 out of 5 Khaaaaaaaans!!!!!!!!!!!

Neca GODZILLA!!!!!
NECA - makers of all of the recent Predator figures - have now come out with a figure of the 2014 Godzilla! I have been hearing good things about the joints and sculpt, but nothing could have prepared me for this. First some In Package pics...
Upon opening, the only thing you have to do is attach the bottom part of the tail. It's 12 inches long from top of the head to the tip of the tail! Lots of incredible detail for a $20 figure! I couldn't stop taking pictures of this thing - there are so many unique shapes and angles! Everything is articulated except for the toes and fingers on the hands. Everything else can pretty much swivel all around!
Love these "low level" shots I got..plus I threw in a black and white of the profile! Arrghh!!! Awesome.
Overall the thing is a dark grey/black color but there are subtle hints of green in the chest and arms if you look close enough here...
I usually don't "review" figures on here, but I'll make an exception today. Considering how cheap this is and how much work was put into it, this is an unbeatable deal! 5 out of 5 Khans! More pictures to come in the following days...
