This is one I've been wanting to do for a while now...one of my favorite horror movies of the last decade or so...all I needed was the right image...caught this again on a free movie weekend and suddenly it came to me...

Another small but good stack this week. I just realized that two of my favorite ongoing titles are getting up there into their second or third dozen set of issues. This is pretty rare, especially for horror titles. American Vampire has been the best and most consistent title since its debut I've been getting the last two years. Hellraiser has kept its momentum despite being based on a classic set of films and featuring those same characters in an extended universe. Usually this goes off the rails after about 5 issues or so, but it has remained true to Barker's vision, and for that, I am thankful. So without further delay...

COVER OF THE WEEK...Hellraiser 17..feels like this is a larger piece of artwork and we are only getting a glimpse. Either way its pretty stunning...

Ok well since Abrams and Co. are dragging their feet with any kind of teaser for the upcoming Trek sequel, I thought I would take a stab at it. Had this idea in my noggin for a while...what do you think? Really the only difference is the film's title...another creation of mine...Enjoy!

Found a small tripod for the camera so I thought I'd try to get some cleaner pics up of the Sukhoi.

Realized this weekend that I had NO shots showing the shark decal side so here goes...

I had taken some close-ups of the canopy but frankly it is so messy looking that it might detract from your overall thoughts on the model. I really need to pay better attention to detail on taping canopy lines. Bleed thru is still a bit of a problem. Oh well.

FINISHED! Academy 1/48 scale Su-27 Flanker...aka The Beast!

I did it - finally finished this monstrosity. This makes two Academy kits in a row for me. I was somewhat apprehensive after the Mig-29 build and its fitting problems but this kit was a breeze overall and no real problems came up. Of course there are parts where I think I could have done better here or there but looking at these photos, it doesn't take away from the overall final build. I'm really pleased at how the weathering/decals and camo job came together. The details are top notch and I can finally say that I've successfully built a FLANKER! Enjoy the photos!

Got a good bit of work done this weekend...we are in the homestretch now...

Some overall views of the workbench...missiles painted 2 coats red.

Close-up of some of the missiles tips...clear glass glued on. Cool little detail on some of them.

Weathering begins...Turpenoid and oil based Burnt Umber mixed until it was soupy..added to panel lines.

Some final shots of some of the best panel line marking. Still need to touch up some areas, but I think this turned out well. What say you? Too much or does it need further "dirtying?"
