I've been wanting to do a TWD poster for a while, just couldn't settle on a satisfying image to use for it. I think this one turned out ok, I'd like to do one for each season, hence the Season One at the bottom...

1/72 DML/Dragon Mi-28 Havoc...FINISHED!
Using the below two pics as a basis, I finished my first choppah model in some time. For being a 20 year old kit, it wasn't too bad - some fitting issues and some decal silvering but all in all not bad. I'd like to find some more recent choppah kits just to see how the retooling has improved the detail and fitting. Anyway here we go...
The first two shots are my favorite that I took, the first you can actually see the gunner through the canopy. The rest follow from various angles. Enjoy.

New Comics...11.23.11...
Little late with posting these, long holiday weekend and all...
Not much to report, but here goes...
COTW Hellraiser Masterpieces #2...very cool vintage reproduced cover.
Blind buy - John Byrne's Cold War 1 and 2...know of this guy from his recent various Star Trek runs, very good artist/writer...this is a cool spy series set during the Cold War obvious...has a little James Bond feel to it. I like it.

Prometheus...Coming Summer 2012
Earlier this year, I did some early, early fan poster mockups for Ridley Scott's Prometheus...his prequel/not prequel to the original ALIEN. Today, some new promo shots were released by Entertainment Weekly, so now this has happened.

The Minimalist Approach...Anatomy of a design...
So I was thinking the other day, has anyone ever really noticed how the islands of Japan looks very similar to the spines on Godzilla's back at a certain angle?
I can't believe I never noticed it before, and as a result you get this...in both American and Japanese language versions. Ha!

The Minimalist Approach...Update
So I had a little inspiration and wanted to try a texture overlay on the Hobbit poster artwork. A little color fix and transparency tweaking here and there, and voila!

The Minimalist Approach...Fool of a Took!
Ok so The Hobbit is still a year away BUT here is a small brainstorm of some poster ideas for it. The first would be my preference but the second could be a two-fer that fit together to make a larger piece.
New Comics...11.16.11...
Batman #3...Cover of the Week...simplistic and effective.
Star Trek 100 Page Spectacular..wheee!

1/72 DML/Dragon Mi-28 Havoc...time for painting...
I think I'm finally to the point of getting some paint down on this thing. It's taken longer to get it to this point than I anticipated, BUT the end result should be nice - surprising number of pieces and parts for such a small model...but I like the attention to detail. The canopy "glass" at first seems problematic with its darker color but I think once the camo goes on, that dark glass might actually look right against the military colors. We'll see...

The Minimalist Approach...Kill em All
Having a little fun - I'm sure the slogan is used by the US Army or Marines, but it fits in this case. Haha.

The Minimalist Approach...Nuns with Guns
Watching The Town (2010) last night...pretty good movie although derived from the superior HEAT (1995). Here are two posters for it...the second being a funny haha version.
