Old stuff from Papa's collection,,,

Some old World War II magazines from 1989, most likely some that I had given him...

Basic Electronics, Basic Electricity, Audels Carpenters and Builders Guides Volumes 1,3,4 and Audels Sheet Metal Workers Hand Book. All of these most likely came from his work at the Charleston Naval Shipyard...

Rare finds from Papa's collection...

"Restricted" Danish and Dutch phrase books, dated Feb 19, 1944 and Dec. 15, 1943, respectively. Also War Ration Books with my grandparents' names on the front! Some coupons still remain as well.

This page in the phrase book contains terms for "Landing a Plane"...

Some of the coupons left inside, some actually say "spare" and "coffee"...

New Comics - Week 4 - August 25, 2010...

Several new titles this week and some from my pull list for a change: Batman #702, Action Comics #892 (my favorite cover of the week), Wonder Woman #602, Previews and Marvel Previews, Wolverine Saga (freebie - gives update on all the current Wolvie stories), The Sword TPB Volume 1 and the craziest, most kick-ass comic of the month, Sea Bear & Grizzly Shark #1. Awesome...

Nothing new on my pull list, but I picked up several Dark Horse and Image titles to try out....Reprint Hellboy #1, Hellboy: The Storm #1, Reprint Invincible #1, Reprint Chew #1 (about a guy who investigates cases by "tasting" evidence HA!), BPRD Hell on Earth #1, Abe Sapien - The Abyssal Plain #1 and #2...

The insanity continues. Week 2 includes The Walking Dead 76, Neonomicon #1 by Alan Moore, Rage of Thor one-shot, Superman #702, and a reprint of Sin City #1 for $1.00...

Yep, down the road to insanity. Getting into comics again full time since being away for the better part of a decade or longer. Included in the first stash are Action Comics #891, Wonder Woman #601, Batman #700, Baltimore-The Plague Ships #1, and Superman #700.
